Wonderful interview! I really love Elizabeth's practice of pursuing things she's interested even when she's not good at them. I think our brains get so much more out of trying something new, failing a little bit, and recalibrating than they do out of just doing the things that are easy for us the first time. I've often been guilty of giving up on things I'm bad at...but I recently took up oil painting and am not very good at all, and am still loving the process! It's forcing me to look at the world in new ways, and what's better than that to feed our creative process??

I imagine that must be in part because you two have such a tender affinity to each other!

I suppose. After all, that’s why I chose her as the subject. I aim for all my interviews going forward to feature people I’ve got a personal connection with!

That is beautiful! Most of my guest posts feature writers/artists I already know and want more exposure for. I feel like this site really connects creators to their target audience!
