Love the idea of sharing your five favorite shirts! My favorite of *yours* is how you view American baseball! I just watched a video earlier today about baseball in Japan and I'd love to go to a game there someday!
Haha, and I'm not even a sport person! There's definitely a vibe to it that I love. It'd be cool if you got to go to a game someday yourself, especially with the way you describe how you'd imagine them feeling.
And your fifth favorite being your wife's favorite shirt is so sweet! I love that it symbolizes trust and always having someone in your corner; that's beautiful!
Hmmm... My favorite piece of clothing... I'm getting back into my own identity and learning who I am for reasons other than the pandemic, so there's nothing I wear and actually care about right now... But I do have shirt I love that I got from my favorite band when I went to their concert--White Rabbits. It's like a seafoam green with black melty letters on the front.
A second piece is one I've never worn, but it's this long, black, billowy, flowy jumper that I kept contemplating getting until there was one left online soooo... I HAD to get it! I just don't know when to wear it? I never had a reason to, and now the whole "re-discovering who I am" thing is happening but I think I'll have a use for it someday!
It's so cool to see ourselves change. It's neat to see how you're creating such engaging essays through all sorts of topics! (I'm here thanks to Nadia having you as a guest post!)
Thanks so much for reading and sharing, Cierra, and thanks to Nadia for bringing you here. It’s very good to have you here. And wow, it kind of blows my mind that you’re going through something similar to my “fashion identity crisis”. I’m confident you’ll get through though, and you’ll be on the other side a more confident person.
I swear my whole life's been in overhaul mode this year! So definitely includes trying to figure out my fashion sense as well. And so glad to have read your work! Happy that Nadia shared your work!
I love your "Coolin' With My Snowmies." It is indeed festive and inspiring the holiday spirit! My husband loves punny shirts like that too. I always look forward to acquiring new ones for him that are on the hilarious side. I don't particularly have any favorite clothes. I tend to change my wardrobe a lot. But I love the process of buying dresses and then choosing which ones I no longer need and giving them away to clothing banks.
Thanks for the honesty. It can be a bit daunting when people ask us to choose our favourite “anything”. Clothes, books, movies, songs etc. It’s cool how you’re always refreshing your wardrobe!
I know how you feel when you need to wear a suit to go to work, a friend of mine told me that it was the most uncomfortable way to be dressed 😁
When three years ago I started to work as a civil servant for my region's government, it made me feel very special and important to get dressed for going to work. I've got to say I didn't need to wear a suit and it was enough to be well dressed. As I worked mornings, afternoons and weekends, things were different depending on the day it was. On weekends, the ambience was different, usually more relaxed, and also it was the way people wore.
I like very much long sleeve T-shirts and also shirts. I like very much the way I look with them, and it feels really like they are made for me. Most of them are from Desigual label.
As I'm quite a sporty girl, mostly in between spring and autumn, I use to wear T-shirts for that. Most of them are from Kukuxumusu label (https://kukuxumusu.com/es/), very famous here in Spain. They are very funny, and I feel very confortable with them. The one I love most is one with a wale and sheeps, it's very cute.
When I was a teenager my sister and me used to share to pairs of T-shirts of Levis Strauss label. We usually argued because we both like to wear them, and my mum was the one who decided who was the one who was going to wear it. Today those T-shirts are still in some drawer, and when I see them it came to my mind the memories of those days, and how the things have changed since then.
Thank you very much for sharing your memories with us 🙂
Snowmies is definitely a killer. I have a friend who has a pun page on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/punny_geenius/, so I'm gonna send a screenshot of that to him hah.
Yes, right? Blew my mind. I was at work when the idea for this post fully coagulated, and I paused everything I was doing, opened my writing app and just vomited everything out.
I have three different t-shirts from a company called LinkSoul that all say “Make Par Not War” on them. My stepdaughter gives me crap about them, saying, “Let me guess, your shirt says “Make Par Not War’ on it today. Shocker!”
I am happy to see you can write again. I have recently found out that your birthday has just passed so Happy birthday! and naturally, a tee is coming. Hope to be with the stand out dribble.
Great selection, great post! And my hearty thanks for this lovely feature. I hope that the community you've built here will find it fun over at Hello Universe, Andrei.
Here's a short poem to celebrate your t-shirt collection:
I’m glad you liked it, Punit! And wow. You’ve got a way with verse, as always. I love the poem and appreciate the effort it took to come up with it! Thanks.
As I write this, I'm wearing a black NaNoWriMo tee from the 2020 edition (my first and fruitful participation!), under a Peanuts hoodie - it's a bit chilly in East Texas today. That to say I understand you. I used to go for solid color stuff, a bit shy to show my feelings on my front and back, I suppose. Gladly, I'm over it! I'll have to go through my drawers and donate some of that stuff... it grows on you. I'm not as industrious as my sister-in-law who didn't want to throw out her favorite rock band T-shirts: she made throw pillows from them. It's surprisingly cool!
All the favourite items of clothing I lost. Baseball caps don't fit me but there was one amazing green Adidas (or was it Nike?) cap that made me look cool when I was like 26. I probably left it on the bus. Or maybe lost it cycling.

Hahaha. For sure. It's a bit cray how often. But I'm obsessed with dresses XD.
What a difficult question! 😅

Thank you so much for sharing! See, the clothes we wear carry stories with them even when we stop wearing them. My mother is a big fan of Desigual :D
Good to hear that, Desigual is very fashionable 😉
Congrats on post #10!

Feel free to do so. Thanks for reading!
It’s astounding to see how certain objects can stimulate memories that lead to stories.

Here's a short poem to celebrate your t-shirt collection:
.
.
They've been with me on flights and dates.
They're loved by me and all my mates.
They're not just fabrics, put on me,
they're part of my identity!
.
My tshirts have some lovely art,
they're part of times so close to heart,
They've changed me and they've changed with me,
they're part of my identity!
I’m glad you liked it, Punit! And wow. You’ve got a way with verse, as always. I love the poem and appreciate the effort it took to come up with it! Thanks.
Glad that I met you Andrei. Love your writing! 🙌
Likewise!

That’s truly such a cool idea. Gonna have to keep it in mind for the future. Don’t want to abandon my favourites anytime soon, either.
ha! yeah right - time for new favorite t-shirts ;)
My favorite t-shirts are all saying I've gained 20 pounds since the beginning of the pandemic and their seams are going on strike! O.o
Haha. Well, better do something about it. Don’t want to disappoint them, right?
